Why does my cat meow at night?

Cats are naturally most active around dawn and dusk, and many learn that noise at night brings food or attention. The fix is routine: play before bed, a late small meal, a timed feeder for the morning, and not answering.

If the crying is new or your cat is older, see a vet first. An overactive thyroid, high blood pressure and age-related confusion can all cause it.

The long version: Why your cat screams at 3 a.m.
