Food

My cat has stopped eating. How long is too long?

Not long. A healthy adult cat that hasn't eaten for about a day should be seen by a vet, and kittens, older cats and cats with health problems sooner. When cats stop eating, the body breaks down fat faster than the liver can handle, which can lead to a serious condition called fatty liver disease. Overweight cats are most at risk.

Do not wait for a cat to give in.

The long version: Picky, or unwell?

General guidance, not a substitute for your vet. If your cat seems unwell, call them.
